Our store design and fit-out for Bristish brand Chester Barrie on Savile Row.
We have been working with Chester Barrie since Bobblehat was founded back in 2013. We have delivered various projects over the years, including multiple showrooms, retail concessions, exhibition stands in Florence and retail stores around the UK.
Our favourite project for Chester Barrie was the design and delivery of their flagship store on Savile Row. The challenge was redesigning their store to create a minimal, formal retail space.
Working closely with Chester Barrie's Creative Director, we took influence from the era in which Chester Barrie was founded while adding contemporary elements. Artwork from the 1930s lines the walls, bronzed powder-coated fixtures framed the brand's collections and the floorboards were exposed and polished.
A crucial aspect of the brief was to achieve and create a sense of space within the long and narrow store, as the previous store felt crowded for the customer. Light-coloured walls & flooring, open & minimal bespoke displays with glass shelving and multiple mirrors helped achieve this.

The first step was to create a mood board to ensure Chester Barrie approved our creative thinking and initial design ideas.
We then produced a complete 3D render pack that showcased the concept and how it would look in real life.
Once the render pack was agreed upon, we moved on to the Technical and Production Drawings that included a 2D Plan, Elevations, a Lighting Plan, and all the necessary drawings for production, specifying materials, finishes, fixing methods and dimensions.
The bespoke manufacturing comprised of the following: solid oak joinery, minimal bronzed powder-coated fixtures, glass shelving, mirrors, fitting areas, and blackened steel rails with solid marble bases.
Our in-house carpentry division handled all joinery elements, whilst our trusted suppliers took care of the metalwork & glazing.
Our Production Managers performed quality checks at different stages to ensure our suppliers produced the bespoke components per our Production Drawings and our expected standards.
We carried out the installation over four weeks. The first step was to remove all existing fixtures & furniture and carry out all the remedial work to return the unit to a blank canvas.
Next, our fitters, decorators, flooring specialists and electricians started bringing the new store concept to life and, on completion, a smooth handover to a happy client.
We also managed the HVAC and Awning installation with suppliers we had previously worked with and provided all the necessary validation paperwork to grant Chester Barrie 'consent to trade'.
